Third Wizard

The name Third Wizard is derived from the song Two Wizards by a close musical companion of BLUFF. That tune now goes by a different name, but as the idiom goes, one man’s trash inspired another man’s treasure, and so this piece unfolded. Third Wizard is paved by space and suspense, with the texture of the Wurlitzer keys wafting through the poignant melody, above which Christian Höhn unfolds what is essentially a big trumpet feature of a piece. It is in every sense of the word a crafted composition, with written and improvised parts seamlessly transitioning and overlapping with each other, with BLUFF elegantly navigating the piece’s contour in one long, unified breath.
